C.M.D.A. Jurisdiction covers Chennai and its nearby areas. DTCP Its jurisdiction extends to all the remaining parts of Tamil Nadu. If the area to be purchased for approval is less than ten acres, the DTCP of the district in which the land is located. Permission from the office is required. Apart from this, if the lay-out area is more than ten acres then DTCP at Chennai. Head office should be contacted.

If the layout is in a village or Municipality or Corporation area, we have to go to the village panchayat or Municipality or Corporation office and submit our layout plan to them.

They check it and forward it to D.T.C.P. They will send the plan to the office. DTCP The authorities will approve the layout plan after examining it at various stages. In it they will be divided into road, park and public space.

Panchayat or Municipality or Corporation all of them Comes under DTCP. Therefore, it is not a good idea to buy a piece of land relying only on Panchayat permission.
